Silos generates climate-friendly heat and electricity with a combination of heat pumps, photovoltaics and pellet heating. This means that energy requirements can largely be covered regeneratively, even in winter. The heat generators and pellet silos are located in two containers outside the company building to save space.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The combination of photovoltaics and heat pumps is now a common energy system, as it provides heat and electricity in a climate-friendly and cost-saving manner. However, there is also the objection that heat pumps require the most electricity precisely when little solar power is generated: in winter.<\/p>\n<p>This then comes from the public power grid, where a lot of conventionally generated electricity still flows, especially in the cold months. Matthias Petzl, technical managing director at A.B.S., was aware of this problem. Silo- und F\u00f6rderanlagen GmbH, when he was thinking about a new heating system. He had had good experience with pellet heating for many years, but the combination of photovoltaics and heat pumps was also interesting, especially since he could also use it to generate CO2-free electrical energy for operation. The solution was a hybrid heating system from AF Hitze GmbH with all three technologies. The heat generators, buffer storage and pellet silos are located in two containers that are right next to the factory hall. In addition, A.B.S.
